HealthLink 811 is a Telecare service that provides all Nova Scotians with access to a Registered Nurse who can provide health advice and health information. This service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, by dialing 811 from any phone registered in the province.

Capital Health and the IWK’s prideHealth program is committed to achieving safe access to health care for members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities.
In addition to our own work, we depend on the expertise of other organizations like PFLAG. PFLAG Canada is a registered charitable organization that provides support, education and resources to parents, families and individuals who have questions or concerns about sexual orientation or gender identity.
PFLAG Canada recently launched a toll-free gender question line. If you or anyone you know has questions about transgender issues, call 1-888-822-9494.

To complement its MegaSearch program for Nova Scotia's grade five students, the Dalhousie Medical School has developed a new Web site. Through stories, activities, and other resources, young people can learn about medical research taking place in their own backyards.
