Breast milk is recommended as the best food for babies. The Canadian Paediatric Society and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. At six months, babies are ready for other foods in addition to breast milk. Breastfeeding can continue up to two years of age and beyond.
The IWK Health Centre seeks to protect, promote and support breastfeeding and encourages a breastfeeding friendly environment.Share
