In the event of a strike, the IWK's Diagnostic Imgaging and X-Ray services will remain open during our regular hours operation for our normal patient population - women, children, and youth.
Due to the reduction in services at Capital Health, patients and families may experience a longer wait than usual.
We will be providing updates via our website regarding wait times and other important patient information once the strike begins, so please check back there, www.iwk.nshealth.ca.
Will my x-rays be processed in a timely manner?
Every effort will be made to process all x-rays in our usual timeframes, however, there may be increased volumes and so there is potential for delays in reporting. X-rays ordered on an urgent or emergent basis will be fastracked.
Can I call to find out how long the wait is?
We will be very busy, so we would prefer that we also were not taking calls. We will be providing regular update on our website regarding diagnostic imaging, blood lab and emergency room wait times.
Where can I get more information?
We encourage the public to check Capital Health’s website, www.cdha.nshealth.ca, as well as our website, www.iwk.nshealth.ca, for the most up-to-date information.
