Families are encouraged to call the Emergency Department at 470-8050 within 48 hours of their visit if they have any questions or concerns. We will not, otherwise, be able to give any advice or information over the phone without seeing and assessing your child again.

Locating the IWK Health Centre's Children's Emergency Department
The IWK's Children’s Emergency Department entrance is located on South Street (near Robie Street), opposite Gorsebrook Junior High School.

From within the Health Centre, the Emergency Department is located on the 1st floor of the Link Site – take the green elevators to the 1st floor.

Please note:
When traveling to the IWK's Children’s Emergency Department, please follow the green “H” signs, with the words “Children’s Emergency” written below the “H,” and the IWK Health Centre logo just above the “H.”
