The Student Body - Promoting Health at Any Size
The Student Body is a teacher-facilitated curriculum for students in grades 4, 5 and 6 drawn from research conducted in Ontario and Nova Scotia. This program is designed to help promote positive body image and healthy lifestyles among this age group of children. This online program is part of a larger research-based initiative to create age-appropriate health promotion strategies designed to prevent disordered eating by researchers in the Department of Community Health Systems Resource Group at the Hospital for Sick Children.
Nova Scotia Down Syndrome Society
The Nova Scotia Down Syndrome Society has as its mission to improve lives for persons with Down syndrome and their families through advocacy, education and support. Check out the great work of the Team Possibles. Team Possibles is an arts exploration group made up of young adults with Down Syndrome and their peers (ages 14-25).
The Canadian Down Syndrome Society (CDSS) is Canada’s national voice for people with Down syndrome. They provide information, advocacy and education about Down syndrome.
