The IWK Health Centre’s building and grounds are 100% smoke-free.
No smoking is permitted in or on all Health Centre property at any time. Smokers are asked to please leave Health Centre property if you wish to smoke. Our Protection Services Officers will ask anyone who is smoking to please stop or leave Health Centre property.

The IWK is committed to the health and well-being of Maritime women, children, youth and families. We feel it is important to provide a healthy environment for our patients, families, visitors, staff and volunteers. By providing a smoke-free environment, the IWK is being a responsible health care provider.

We realize that our Smoke-Free Policy may cause difficulty for some patients and families and we will be as supportive as we can be. Please talk to your health care worker about ways we can help you cope with our Smoke-Free Policy.
