Established in 1996, the IWK Health Centre Foundation is a charitable foundation dedicated to helping the IWK provide the best care possible to Maritime families by encouraging financial contributions from the private sector.

Foundation events are activities organized by the IWK Foundation or volunteer representatives which, in most cases, occur in partnership with other organizations. The success of these annual events is due to the generosity of the organizing committees who give of themselves and the amazing partners we have in organizations such as CTV.

The IWK Telethon has become a tradition in the Maritime community. All year long, large and small businesses, schools, community groups and individuals come up with creative ways to raise money to present to the IWK at the Telethon. Year after year, Maritimers prove how much they care about the patients at the IWK. In 2008, a grand total of $5,014,516.97 was raised to help buy equipment, fund research and provide special programs like Bilingual Services and Centre-wide Child Life to benefit Maritime children and their families. | IWK Radiothons | Developed by the Children’s Miracle Network, an umbrella organization made up of 170 member hospitals and foundations from across Canada and the US, the IWK Radiothon is a truly inspiring event, full of real-life stories and experiences shared by patients, families and staff of the IWK. Through the support of our radio partners in Halifax, Moncton and P.E.I., and the generosity of the listening audiences, IWK Radiothons throughout the Maritimes help raise much needed funds for priority equipment, research and special programs at the IWK.
