The Awards of the Board of Directors are presented at the IWK Annual General MeetingBOARD AWARD OF DISTINCTION
This is the highest honour bestowed by the IWK Board of Directors to only one recipient each year. It honours an individual, group or team that has made a unique, sustaining and significant contribution to the IWK Health Centre and to the accomplishment of our mission, vision and mandate. Recipients may be employees or physicians of the IWK Health Centre.
BOARD AWARD OF COMMUNITY EXCELLENCE
This award is the IWK Board’s opportunity to recognize and thank one or a group of community members who have made a distinct, significant and lasting contribution to the IWK Health Centre and to the achievement of our vision and mission. Nominees can be volunteers, community groups, vendors and suppliers, members of the IWK Board of Directors, members of the IWK Auxiliary, and the community at large.
BOARD AWARD OF LEADERSHIP
This award distinguishes exemplary IWK Health Centre leaders. It pulls to the forefront for recognition the outstanding contribution of one (or a team) of IWK employees, physicians, or volunteers whose leadership has propelled the Health Centre in new directions, introduced innovative solutions and moved the IWK closer to achieving its mission, vision and strategy. The Board chooses one or several recipients for this award each year.
BOARD AWARD OF SERVICE
The Board Award of Service recognizes the generous volunteer contribution of time, energy and knowledge from members of the Board of Directors. It is awarded upon retirement from our Board.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
To provide a nomination for the Board Award of Distinction, the Board Award of Community Excellence or the Board Award of Leadership please:
1. Prepare a letter of nomination specifying the award and outlining the qualifications
and contributions supporting the nomination.
2. Attach, at a minimum, two supporting letters of reference for the nomination.
3. Forward to Pat Blaikie, IWK Public Relations, no later than September 4, 2012.
