The IWK Pediatric Rehabilitation Care Team is building rehabilitation services for children, youth and their families in Nova Scotia. We focus on strengths, interests and aspirations. We work with children, youth and families to maximize potential for growth and development, participation, and quality of life.
Outreach
We partner with other rehabilitation professionals around the province to share knowledge, enhance communication and build capacity to provide a higher level of paediatric rehabilitation care closer to home.
Three times a year, we offer five different (various) individualized learning opportunity modules to interested applicants on a first come/first served basis. These include Custom Shadowing and the Multi-Disciplinary Team Approach, which both occur at the IWK. We also offer three Consultation Visit modules, one for preschoolers, one for school-age children and one for children requiring the Augmentative Communication Consultative Service, which take place at facilites within Nova Scotia's district health authorities. We also organize Telehealth presentations on topics requested by community therapists.
